First distilled by Charles Tanqueray in 1830, Tanqueray London Dry Gin has stayed true to the high standards laid out by its creator over the past 190 years. Credited as one of the first gins to move on from the Old Tom style and pioneer the London Dry style, Tanqueray has had a ubiquitious presence anywhere that gin is drunk, but particularly in America. When Prohibition was enacted, Tanqueray flourished as one of the most popularly bootlegged spirits in the country. It's even said that the first drink that was served in the White House to celebrate the end of Prohibition was Tanqueray and Tonic!
Post-Prohibition, the distillery managed to survive The London Blitz and has continued to expand into the international icon that it remains today. Have it with tonic or soda and a wedge of lime, the way the distillers intended!
